What Is Signage?

What is signage? Signage is graphics of any type that is made for the purpose of displaying information  to a targeted audience. There are many types available, including street signs, modular signs, custom signs created specifically to meet your needs, neon signs, and more. Signage is divided into types, and these types label the specifics of the signs, or what the sign is used for.

Street signage is the signage concerning all street and traffic communications. These signs are usually made from metal and are specific shapes and colors, with words, pictures, or both. This includes signs that have street or road names, enabling travelers to find a specific road for navigation purpose. Street signage is very important for safe travel, as well, because signs like stop signs, yield signs, speed limit signs, and others tell motorists about the rules and hazards. Without curve signs, one part of street signage, there would be no warning about sharp curves ahead, causing drivers to go off the road and crash. These signs are usually moderately sized, large enough to be seen but small enough to avoid obstructing the view.

Modular signage includes individual pieces that are already made, which are combined to make your signs. This includes gas price signs, which change frequently. These signs have precut letters, numbers, and other characters which can be combined to create any message you want. Custom characters, created to your specifications, as well as different colors can be used to make modular signage truly unique and one of a kind.

Neon signage includes any sign that consists of neon. These signs offer a terrific attraction thanks to the glowing light, so they make a great advertising sign. Neon signs can come in a variety of colors, so there is a shade to match any décor. Neon signage can be found in bars, with the beer signs, cigarette signs, and liquor signs are all usually neon signs. Places like New York City and Las Vegas have thousands of neon lights that make these cities sparkle and glow. Neon signage is one of the most popular types of signage, and the cost for these signs is quite low.

Custom signage includes signs which are made to meet your specific requirements. There are many advantages to custom signage, including having a unique sign designed only for you. These signs can have any text or graphics that you decide on, making them a perfect fit with your business. Custom signage allows you more choices and options than other sign types, however, the cost for these signs can be a bit more expensive than with modular or neon signage. The exposure that is received in exchange for a slight increase in price may be well worth the cost if it results in more customers and higher profits. Whether you decide to custom design your own sign or not, it is a choice available for review. Customizing your sign may be beneficial for advertising purposes, because you can add vivid colors and logos or other graphics to ensure your custom signage really grabs attention.
