I started working at HFE Signs in September 2010
My Role at HFE:
I am the Office and Accounts Manager.
I take an active role in customer service, and correspond with customers ensuring that any (rare) problems with deliveries are sorted out quickly and efficiently.
I look after the day to day running of the sales and purchase ledgers and oversee all aspects of our company accounts ready to hand over to accountants at year-end. Along-side this I also look after the company payroll.
I look after the office and make sure that there are always plenty of tea-bags and toilet rolls... as well as providing the director with essential reports on sales and staff efficiency.
Brief professional background:
I began working at Drakelow Powerstation after finishing my O-level course at college, working in various offices and concluding in the statistics department. Whilst there I attained an ONC in Business studies and various associated O-levels. I left Drakelow to become a full-time mum in 1979.
While I was a stay-at-home mum, I became involved in party-plan sales, was a child-minder, set up and ran our local mother and toddler group, was an active member of the preschool, Rainbows and Scouting groups as well as being a member of the ptfa and a governor of Rykneld Primary School.
In 1996 I helped my husband set up his consultancy company and began my career in managing accounts and offices – a baptism by fire which has held me in good stead ever since.
I had a brief stint as an administrator in adult education and took the opportunity to gain qualifications in IT.
This is now my fourth position as Office Manager with accounting duties, a role that I both enjoy and am suited to, proving myself invaluable to managers and staff alike.
Hobbies out of work:
Greetings card making - Walking - Reading - Cooking & Fishing
Claims to fame:
I was once crowned “Miss Savoy Holiday Camp Beauty Queen”
