HFE help Thomas Cook to reach dizzy new heights with children’s charity

Thomas Cook pilots climb Mount Kilimanjaro and display banner created by HFE

We get banner requests from the world and his wife at HFE. Sometimes it’s only after we’ve taken the order and despatched the products that we realise the effect that the banners can have, especially if they are for charitable purposes.

So when Theresa Monson from Thomas Cook ordered a banner, we received the artwork, weaved our usual magic and thought little more of what was going to happen with the product.

However, it appears we were creating something that would reach dizzy new heights for charity! Theresa is the Charitable Relations Co-ordinator for Thomas Cook and the “Thomas Cook Children’s Charity” banner found its way to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Chris Teasdale and Berglind Rafnsdottir-Teasdale, a husband and wife team from the Thomas Cook airline, set about climbing one of the tallest mountains in the world to raise money and they packed the banner in their belongings.

Over £1000 was raised for the Happy Days Children’s Charity, a long-standing partner who have been Thomas Cook’s chosen charity since they were formed in 2009.

Happy Days are dedicated to providing unique experiences for families who have children with special needs. As little as £10 is enough for a child to enjoy a theatre experience through the charity, while £250 pays for ten children to enjoy a visit to the seaside.

Thomas Cook ordered their banner online and we liaised with Theresa to ensure they had a high-quality product that would stand the unpredictable conditions at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

We wish Thomas Cook well with all their fund-raising efforts and look forward to supplying a discount next time they pop along as a goodwill gesture for all their good work on this front.
